Service 08
Fire, security & access
Coordinated life-safety and security systems with responsibilities made clear from the outset.
Capability
Built around the operating site.
We install, test, commission, periodically inspect, service and maintain fire-alarm systems designed by the system supplier. Alongside that work, our team delivers CCTV, intruder alarms, door entry, access control and automatic gate or barrier systems. Interfaces are defined carefully so power, signalling, release functions and customer responsibilities remain clear.
What we deliver
Practical scope.
Clear responsibility.
Every quotation defines the work, interfaces and evidence for that project. These are the core areas our team can bring together.
Fire-alarm installation
Installation, testing and commissioning to the supplier’s system design and agreed cause-and-effect requirements.
Fire-alarm maintenance
Periodic inspection, functional testing, servicing, fault-finding, alterations and recorded remedial work.
CCTV
Cameras, recording equipment, power, containment and local system integration for agreed coverage.
Intruder alarms
Detection, control, signalling interfaces, commissioning and ongoing maintenance.
Access & door entry
Readers, locks, releases, intercoms, power supplies and interfaces with agreed life-safety functions.
Gates & barriers
Electrical installation, controls, safety-device interfaces and maintenance for suitable automatic systems.
Engineering view
Interfaces that must agree
Alarm, security and access functions are coordinated so an interface does not undermine the intended safety response.
How we work
A controlled route from brief to evidence.
Requirements
Define the risk-led brief, design responsibility, coverage, interfaces, access and future service needs.
Coordinate
Review supplier information, cable routes, power, device locations and system interactions.
Deliver
Install and test equipment through our team with changes and limitations recorded.
Maintain
Commission, hand over, schedule periodic work and keep the operational record current.

Assurance
Evidence that supports the work.
Records are proportionate to the task and agreed at quotation stage, so customers and dutyholders know what they will receive.
- Supplier system-design information
- Installation and commissioning records
- Cause-and-effect or interface test evidence
- Periodic inspection and service records
- Defect and remedial reports
Fire-alarm design is undertaken by the system supplier; Cornwall Electrics installs, tests, commissions, periodically inspects, services and maintains. We do not install or maintain wet sprinkler systems. Monitoring, data networks and third-party software are included only where expressly agreed.
