Enquiries and customer communications

This website has no contact form. If you call us, select an email link or contact us independently, we receive the information you choose to provide. This may include your name, contact details, site address, organisation, project requirements and any documents or photographs you send.

We use that information to respond, prepare quotations, arrange and deliver work, maintain business records, meet legal or regulatory duties and protect our legitimate business interests. Depending on the circumstances, this is necessary for steps before a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations or our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business.

Business and project records are retained only for as long as reasonably required for the enquiry, contract, certification, warranty, insurance, tax, limitation or other legal and operational purposes that apply.

03

Essential storage and optional analytics

The site uses essential hosting and security technology to deliver pages safely. Your analytics choice is stored in your browser for up to six months so the site can remember it. This preference does not identify you to Cornwall Electrics.

Google Analytics 4, measurement ID G-NDGWYZBGKW, loads only after you select “Accept analytics”. If accepted, it helps us understand page use, approximate location, device and browser type, sessions and interactions. Advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled in our site configuration.

Google Analytics may set _ga and _ga_<container-id> first-party cookies, normally for up to two years, although browsers may limit them sooner. User-level and event-level data is retained for no more than 14 months. Aggregated reporting may remain available for longer.

You can reject analytics without losing site functionality. Use the “Cookie settings” control at the bottom of any page to accept, reject or withdraw your choice. Withdrawing deletes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this site and reloads the page without the analytics tag.

04

Hosting, registers, social media and video

Our hosting provider and its delivery network may process technical request information such as IP address, browser details, requested page, date and time for security, reliability and diagnostic logs.

Official-register, Companies House, Instagram and YouTube links take you to external services governed by their own privacy terms. Work-video preview images are requested from YouTube when the page loads. The privacy-enhanced YouTube player is not loaded until you press play.

The live Instagram profile is not requested when a page first loads. If you select “Load live Instagram updates”, your browser connects to Instagram so Meta can receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details and may use cookies or similar storage. The button and its notice provide a separate choice for that embedded content; rejecting Google Analytics does not prevent you from choosing to load it.

We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with professional advisers, insurers, regulators, certification bodies, IT and hosting providers, payment or accounting providers, and public authorities where necessary and lawful.

05

Your rights and questions

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal information, object to processing, request portability and complain about how information is handled. Some rights are subject to legal exceptions and record-keeping duties.

Contact admin@cornwallelectrics.co.uk first so we can investigate. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office ↗.
